NASDAQ Futures are up 10 with +16 Fair Value, Dow Futures are down 14 on this historic Monday before the Fed interest rate "decision". China stocks had a bad day after growth in China's investment and factory output missed forecasts in August.
Apple put on an excellent event last Wednesday with a truly amazing product line, including 2 new iPhones with 3D Touch, an amazing new iPad Pro with optional pressure and angle sensitive stylus and keyboard, a totally revamped Apple TV entertainment hub with Siri-assisting capabilities, apps, videogames and a Wii-style controller, and lastly an update to the feature-packed Apple Watch. "Sell on the news" only got a point or so, and AAPL was dragged down, breaking 110. AAPL recovered by the end of week, closing at 114.21, easily beating the high during the iPad Pro introduction portion of the event before the "selling" began.
AAPL is up in pre-market this morning on iPhone pre-order numbers and strong demand for the new model in China. AAPL gapped up at 4am, opening at 114.29 and has since launched up a couple more points on high volume with a brief breather on relatively moderate volume, temporarily dropping to mid-115 at 8:33am. AAPL shot up within minutes, reaching a peak of 117.07 on high volume at 8:45am. Interesting day and week, indeed. AAPL is currently up 2.81 at 117.02.
