Apple Today 2/13/2017 (AAPL)

Welcome back. S&P Futures are up 5 with +5 Fair Value, NASDAQ Futures are up 9 with +10 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 53 as we cruise through mid-February with an optimistic start to a mixed Monday. US stocks are edging up in pre-market and appear to be on track for new all-time highs. OPEC will release a report today and many will be watching to see if there was a production cut in January.
This morning's sleepy Economic Calendar includes: 4-Week Bill Announcement, 3-Month Bill Auction and 6-Month Bill Auction.
The earnings winners is: Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (TEVA), up nearly 3.5% in pre-market. On the other hand, Diana Containerships Inc. (DCIX) is down nearly 0.5%.
Futures were up in early morning and held a narrow range until pushing up further at 7:30am and are near the highs as we approach the open.
Asian markets ended up. Hong Kong gained 0.58%, Japan went up 0.41%, and China led the advance, up 0.63%. European markets are up. The UK is up 0.17, Germany is up 1.07% and France is leading the advance, up 1.30%.
Commodities are mostly down this morning. Oil is down 0.54%, natural gas is down 2.37% and gold is down 0.71%. Unleaded gas is down 1.17% and heating oil is down 1.08%. Metals are down except copper. Meats are mostly down. Cotton is up while coffee, cocoa, corn, wheat and soybeans are down.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (TEVA) reported Q4 results that beat expectations and is up nearly 3.5% in pre-market. Diana Containerships Inc. (DCIX) is down nearly 0.5% after announcing a Q4 adjusted loss of 66 cents per share.
This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from GigPeak, Inc. (GIG), Flowers Foods, Inc. (FLO) and Rent-A-Center Inc. (RCII).
Tomorrow morning before the open, RetailMeNot, Inc. (SALE), Capella Education Company (CPLA), Diebold Inc. (DBD), NetSol Technologies Inc. (NTWK), Molson Coors Brewing Company (TAP), Vonage Holdings Corp. (VG), Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. (DPS), T-Mobile US, Inc. (TMUS), Discovery Communications, Inc (DISCA), Credit Suisse Group AG (CS) and Tata Motors Limited (TTM) are expected to report.

AAPL had a strong week, ending up 2.36% on low volume. On Monday, AAPL jumped out of the bowl pattern to above 130 and ended up 0.94% on low volume. On Tuesday, AAPL flew up to 132, ending up 0.95% on higher than average volume. On Wednesday, AAPL balanced at the mid-131 line, tipping up 0.39% to 132 on low volume. On Thursday, AAPL ponied up $3.1 billion and yet ended up 0.71% to 132.41 on low volume. On Friday, AAPL landed the OPEX chopper down 0.23% on slight volume. AAPL opened up at 132.46 to high volume and zoomed up to an intra-day high of 132.94 at 9:54am on strong volume before slipping sharply to the low 132-area ahead of lunch on low volume and rising to the mid-132 area in early afternoon on low volume before dipping to set an intra-day low of 132.06 while landing in the low-132 zone into the close. AAPL ended the day down 30 cents at 132.12 and dropped 7 cents in after-hours to 132.05.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher in conjunction with Futures and continued above 132.5 as Goldman Sachs reiterated AAPL coverage with Buy and a $150 price target, setting a pre-market high of 133.13 right ahead of the bell. AAPL is currently up $1.01 at 133.13 as we approach the open.
Classic max-pain is 130.
