Apple Today 12/13/2016 (AAPL)

Good Morning,
S&P Futures are up 8 with +6 Fair Value, NASDAQ Futures are up 20 with +11 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 73 on this December Tuesday as the final monthly FOMC meeting for 2016 kicks off and investors and traders alike anxiously await the resulting announcement on Wednesday with almost as much anticipation as the new Star Wars film releasing this Friday.
Aside from the big FOMC meeting starting, the economic calendar has Small Business Optimism, Import/Export Prices and Chain Store Sales reporting this morning.
Earnings stinker VeriFone Systems, Inc. (PAY) is down over 2% after missing Q4 expectations.
Futures were down slightly in early morning and went up steadily throughout the morning, peaking at 7:56am and are now just off the highs as we approach the open.
Asian markets ended up. China gained 0.07%, Hong Kong went up 0.06% and Japan led the advance, up 0.50%. European markets are also up. Germany is up 0.54%, France is up 0.58% and the UK is leading the advance, up 0.58%.
Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 0.38%, natural gas is up 1.25% and gold is down 0.33%. Unleaded gas is up 1.04% and heating oil is up 0.25%. Metals are down, except platinum. Meats are up. Cocoa, coffee, cotton and soybeans are up while corn and wheat are down.
Dow, S&P hit record highs as Fed meeting in focus. Oil demand to grow more swiftly, too early to assess global output cut. UK inflation at 2-year high as clothing prices rise.
VeriFone Systems, Inc. (PAY) reported Q4 results that missed expectations and is down over 2%.
This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Nordson Corporation (NDSN) and ABM Industries Incorporated (ABM).

AAPL had a cloudy day yesterday, ending down 0.57% on low volume. AAPL opened lower at 113.19 to high volume and dipped sharply to mid-112 on high volume before bouncing back above 113 and then slipping again to an intra-day low of 112.49 at 10:34am on moderate volume. AAPL quickly bounced back to 113 again on mild volume and remained in a narrow range in the upper-112 zone for the rest of the afternoon, breaking just above in the final 30 minutes on moderate volume. AAPL ended the day down 65 cents at 113.30 and dropped 17 more cents in after-hours to 113.13.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened lower and scraped a pre-market low of 113.01 before propelling up into the mid and upper-113 area on bearish confidence comments for 2017 by Citi. AAPL is currently up 47 cents at 113.80 as we approach the open.
Classic max-pain is 115. The December FOMC meeting begins today.
