Apple Today 11/25/2016 OPEX (AAPL)
seymour_greenz November 25th 2016 10:15:05 AMGood Morning,
Welcome back... to OPEX! S&P Futures are up 5 with+3 Fair Value, NASDAQ Futures are up 11 with +8 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 59 with Black Friday in full-swing, already breaking records as the initial turkey-tryptophan ecstasy winds down. Despite a short market day ending at 1pm, the economic calendar has a few key metrics rolling in this morning, including International trade in goods and Services Index, followed by Fed Balance Sheet and Money Supply this afternoon. Unsurprisingly this shortened holiday trading day has little to offer in terms of earnings and Monday morning's earning power rests squarely on Diana Containerships Inc. (DCIX). Futures were up in early morning, gained ground throughout the morning and remained fairly cheerful, though off the highs as we approach the open.
Asian markets ended up. Hong Kong gained 0.51%, Japan went up 0.31% and China led the advance, up 0.62%. European markets are mostly down. The UK is up 0.11%, Germany is down 0.10% and France is down 0.13%.
Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is down 1.02%, natural gas is up 0.36% and gold is down 0.13%. Unleaded gas is down 1.14% and heating oil is down 0.68%. Metals are mixed, gold and platinum are down while silver and copper are up. Meats are up. Corn and soybeans are up while cocoa, coffee, cotton and wheat are down.
Oil down on strong dollar, OPEC uncertainty.
On Monday morning before the open, look out for earnings from Diana Containerships Inc. (DCIX).
A leading bullish MSFT swing trade strategy is: When the 10 SMA is Above the 27 DEMA AND the 5 day Smoothed Stochastics is Bullish, daily bars.
AAPL dropped 0.51% on Wednesday on very low volume. AAPL opened at 111.37 to fair volume and quickly went up to set an intra-day high of 111.51 at 9:50am on moderate volume before slipping to an intra-day low of 110.33 at 10:48am. AAPL bounced back into the upper-111 area with an eye on 112 on the upper-111 area during lunchtime and early afternoon on low volume ans settled to 111.75 at 2pm where it remained in a fairly narrow range for the remainder of the day on low volume. AAPL ended the day down 57 cents at 111.23 and dropped 3 cents in after-hours to 111.20.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened lower and scraped a low of 110.41 at 4:31am before hurdling back over 111 and setting a pre-market high of 111.25 later in the morning. AAPL is currently down 12 cents at 111.11 as we approach the open.
