Apple Today 11/10/2016 (AAPL)

NASDAQ Futures are up 29 with +29 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 11 with +12 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 100 on this "day 2" post-election Thursday with a busy economic calendar, including Jobless Claims, Consumer Comfort and Natural Gas Inventory later this morning. The earnings calendar stars feature Shake Shack (SHAK), up 10.5% and MannKind Corporation (MNKD), up 20% and SodaStream International (SODA), up 15%. Retailer Macy's Inc. (M) bombed Q3 earnings but guided higher and is up nearly 3%. while Kohl's Corporation (KSS) is up 7% on a strong Q3. Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation (RL) is also up nearly 2%. Upcoming earners include The Walt Disney Company (DIS) and NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) this afternoon and J.C. Penney Company Inc. (JCP) tomorrow morning. Futures were flat in early morning and pushed up, peaking just before 3:30am and have since subsided. While still up, Futures are off the highs as we approach the open.
Asian markets ended up. China went up 1.37%, Hong Kong gained 1.89% and Japan led the advance, up 6.73%. European markets are mixed. The UK is down 0.28%, Germany is up 0.27% and France is up 0.72%.
Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is down 0.93%, natural gas is down 2.38% and gold is up 0.34%. Unleaded gas is up 0.15% and heating oil is down 0.67%. Metals are up except platinum. Meats are mostly up. Cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are up while cocoa and coffee are down.

MannKind Corporation (MNKD) reported a profitable Q3 yesterday afternoon with net income of 26 cents and is up nearly 20% in pre-market. Shake Shack (SHAK) announced Q3 results that beat expectations and is up nearly 10.5%. Sunoco LP (SUN) is down nearly 0.5% after reporting net income of 24 cents per share, missing Q3 forecasts. SunPower Corporation (SPWR) is up nearly 1% after reporting a Q3 loss but exceeded expectations.
SodaStream International (SODA) reported Q3 earnings this morning and is up over 15% after beating expectations. Macy's Inc. (M) announced Q3 results that badly missed expectations but guided higher and is up nearly 3%. Kohl's Corporation (KSS) reported a strong Q3 with a 21.7% jump in profit due in part to back-to-school strength and is up over 7%. Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation (RL) announced Q2 results with profit of 55 cents per share and is up nearly 2%.
This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from The Walt Disney Company (DIS), NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA), Nordstrom Inc. (JWN), CafePress (PRSS), ImmunoCellular Therapeutics, Ltd. (IMUC) and Blue Buffalo (BUFF).
Tomorrow morning before the open, J.C. Penney Company Inc. (JCP) is expected to report.

AAPL dropped sharply yesterday with our old friend 118 looking so far down the tracks but actually only ended down 0.16% on extremely heavy volume. AAPL opened down 109.88 to exceptionally high volume and popped above mid-110 within 2 minutes on gigantic volume only to sink to an intra-day low of 108.05 at 9:42am on yet more huge volume. AAPL bounced sharply and formed a basin (small intra-day cup and handle) from 10am to 11am on moderate volume that led to the upper-109 to 110 area on moderate volume. AAPL peaked at 111.32 at 3:20pm on moderate volume before slipping back towards mid-110 into the close. AAPL ended the day up down 18 at 110.88 and gained 9 cents in after-hours to 110.97.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher and quickly targeted 112 in conjunction with green Futures before slipping back to 111 and then below later in the morning. AAPL is currently down 11 cents at 110.77 as we approach the open.
