seymour_greenz • October 6th 2016 09:48:45 AM

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are down 9 with -7 Fair Value, S&P Futures are down 5 with -5 Fair Value and Dow Futures are down 40 on this Thursday busy with economic data, including jobless claims this morning. Twitter may not get an offer from Google, Disney or Apple after all, according to Re/code, sending shares tumbling over 17% in pre-market. Futures were flat in early morning and moved up to positive ground, peaking shortly before 3:30am, then slipped sharply after 5:15am and are near the lows as we approach the open.

Asian markets ended up. China was closed for a National Day, Japan gained 0.47% and Hong Kong led the advance, up 0.69%. European markets are mostly up. The UK is up 1.84%, Germany is up 0.43% and France is down 0.54%.

Commodities are mostly down this morning. Oil is up 0.06%, natural gas is down 0.39% and gold is down 0.20%. Unleaded gas is down 0.90% and heating oil is down 0.21%. Metals are down. Meat is mostly down. Wheat is up while cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn and soybeans are down.

Jobless claims near 4-decade low ahead of US payrolls data. US oil rises above $50 a barrel for 1st time since June. Rift forms in European stocks as bank gains fail to lift market.

Yum! Brands, Inc. (YUM) reported Q3 results yesterday afternoon with adjusted earnings of $1.09 per share, meeting expectations and is down nearly 3% in pre-market.

Advanced Drainage Systems (WMS) announced an 80% gain in Q1 profits this morning and has yet to react in pre-market.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Ruby Tuesday, Inc. (RT).

Tick... AAPL ticked along the 113-line yesterday, biding some time and ending up just 0.04% on emaciated volume. AAPL opened up at 113.38 to high volume and took a quick dip below 113 within 10 minutes on strong volume, then bounced back sharply on moderate volume to set an intra-day peak of 113.66 at 10:08am on moderate volume. AAPL just as quickly fell back through 113 and to an intra-day low of 112.69 at 10:50am on moderate volume before bouncing back above 113 shortly after 11am on low volume. Tock... AAPL then hung around the low-113 area through lunchtime on very low volume, dipped into the upper-112 area after 1pm and swelled into the 113.25 area by 3pm. After 3pm, AAPL dipped below 113 again on low volume and, surprise, ended the day just over 113. AAPL closed up 5 cents at 113.05 and gained 41 cents in after-hours to 113.46 after popping into the upper-113 area on a likely combination of Dialog Semiconductor (DLG) results and Twitter bid relief.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher and initially gravitated to 113 on low volume before popping above 113.5 again and has been holding up well in the mid-113 area, striving towards the upper-113 area and setting a pre-market high of 113.83 at 7:46am. AAPL is currently up 62 cents at 113.67 as we approach the open.

Classic max-pain is 112.
