Apple Today - 9/28/2016 (AAPL)

NASDAQ Futures are up 5 with -7 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 1 with -7 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 14 with -95 Fair Value as we hit mid-week bustling with economic data and Fedspeak, including testimony from Janet Yellen this morning at 10am. Nike Inc. (NKE) is down after reporting earnings while BlackBerry Ltd. (BBRY) is up. Futures were down slightly in early morning and bounced to a peak at 4am, then dipped sharply after 5am and have since bounced back again we approach the open.
Asian markets ended mixed. China went down 0.34%, Hong Kong gained 0.20% and Japan dropped 1.31%. European markets are mixed. The UK is down 0.57%, Germany is up 0.82% and is France up 0.98%.
Commodities are mostly down this morning. Oil is up 1.21%, natural gas is down 2.82% and gold is down 0.05%. Unleaded gas is up 2.19% and heating oil is up 1.64%. Metals are mixed, silver and copper are up while gold and platinum are down. Meat is down sharply. Cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are all down.
US core capital goods orders rise for third straight month. Deutsche helps lift European stocks before Yellen, Draghi.
Nike Inc. (NKE) reported Q1 results yesterday afternoon with mixed results, sales beating expectations but forecasting orders to slow and is down over 2.5% in pre-market. Cintas Corporation (CTAS) announced Q1 earnings with adjusted earnings of $1.12 per share that beat expectations and is up over 4%.
BlackBerry Ltd. (BBRY) reported Q2 results that were breakeven and revealed plans to outsource the handset business and is up over 3% in pre-market. Paychex, Inc. (PAYX) is slightly up in pre-market after announcing Q1 results with service revenue of $773.5 million for the 3 months ended August 31, 2016, a 9% increase over the same period in 2015.
This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Pier 1 Imports Inc. (PIR).
Tomorrow morning before the open, PepsiCo Inc. (PEP), Accenture plc (ACN) and ConAgra Foods, Inc. (CAG) are expected to report.
AAPL took a smack from above 113 to sub-112.5 at 11am before bouncing back to end the day positive by 0.19% on low volume. AAPL opened up at 113 to high volume and dipped towards the mid-112 area on high volume before bouncing up sharply to set an intra-day high of 113.18 at 10:04am on moderately strong volume. AAPL then dipped to an intra-day low of 112.34 at 11:08am on moderate volume before reversing and turning positive mid-lunchtime on low volume. AAPL wallowed in the upper-112 area until 2pm on low volume and then reclaimed 113 by 2:30pm showing strength in the low-113 area into the close. AAPL ended the day up 21 cents at 113.09 and shed 4 cents in after-hours to 113.05
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher at 113.1 in conjunction with Futures and perked up further later in the morning on comments from Digitimes regarding iPhone 7 touch panel suppliers orders coming in 20%-30% higher than expected, setting a pre-market high of 113.75. AAPL is currently up 47 cents at 113.56 as we approach the open.
