Apple Today - 8/15/2016 (AAPL)

NASDAQ Futures are up 9 with +10 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 5 with +4 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 45 as begin a new week and the mid-month mark in August. Earnings season is drawing to a close and manufacturing data is rolling in this morning. Futures were up in early morning, peaked at 3:50am with a small dip afterwards and are near the highs as we approach the open.
Asian markets ended mixed. China gained 2.44%, Hong Kong went up 0.73% and Japan dropped 0.30%. European markets are up. Germany is up 0.40%, France is up 0.10% and the UK is leading the advance, up 0.46%.
Commodities are mostly up this morning. Oil is up 0.45%, natural gas is down 0.04% and gold is up 0.09%. Unleaded gas is down 0.50% and heating oil is up 0.62%. Metals are up except platinum. Meat is mixed. Cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are all up.
Manufacturing in New York region weakens in August. China stocks jump to 7-month high on Shenzhen link optimism. Japan's economy stalls in April-June, casts doubts on Abe's policies.
Vuzix Corp (VUZI) reported a Q2 loss this morning and is down nearly 2.5% in pre-market. Forbes Energy Services Ltd. (FES) announced Q2 results and is up over 21%.
This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Evoke Pharma, Inc. (EVOK).
Tomorrow morning before the open, Advance Auto Parts, Inc. (AAP), Home Depot, Inc. (HD), TJX Companies Inc. (TJX), Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc. (DKS) are expected to report.
AAPL had a bouncy week at the 108-line, ending up positive 0.65% on low volume. On Monday, AAPL surfed up from the mid-107 area to the low 108-area on low volume. On Tuesday, AAPL hung out in the low-108 area until later in the afternoon when it jumped up towards 109 on low volume. On Wednesday, AAPL peaked early and slid down to the upper-107 area on moderate volume, ending the mid-week day down at 108 on low volume. On Thursday, AAPL paid out $3.2 billion from the vaults, opened higher and made another grasp at 109 but sold off to 108 by end of day on low volume. On OPEX Friday, AAPL gained 0.23% on low volume. AAPL opened down at 107.78 to moderately high volume and quickly recovered 108 on a mission to the mid-108 area but ran out of steam and settled in the low-108 area for around an hour before pushing back up to set an intra-day high of 108.44 at 10:56am on mild volume. AAPL then sold off, quickly dipping down below 108 and setting an intra-day low of 107.77 at 1:06pm on moderately low volume before bouncing. AAPL spent early afternoon fighting to stay above 108 and successfully held and went on to regain the lower-108 area into the close. AAPL ended the day up 25 cents at 108.18 and gave up 7 cents in after-hours to 108.11.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up higher in the low-108 area in conjunction with Futures and been striving for 108.5 while making headway in the mid-108 area, peaking at 108.50 at 8:43am on relatively high volume. AAPL is currently up 27 cents at 108.45 as we approach the open.
Classic max-pain is 105.
