Apple Today - 7/12/2016 (AAPL)

NASDAQ Futures are up 25 with +27 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 11 with +10 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 80 on this busy Tuesday filled with economic data and upcoming earnings potential. Futures were up slightly in early morning and pushed up steadily after 2:30am until stabilizing just before 5am and are near the highs as we await the open.
Asian markets ended up. China gained 1.82%, Hong Kong went up 1.65% and Japan led the advance, up 2.46%. European markets are mostly up. The UK is down 0.03%, Germany is up 1.43% and France is leading the advance, up 1.54%.
Commodities are mostly up this morning. Oil is up 2.79%, natural gas is up 1.67% and gold is down 0.58%. Unleaded gas is up 2.57% and heating oil is up 2.89%. Metals are mixed. Meat is down. Cocoa, coffee, cotton, and soybeans are up while corn and wheat are down.
Global stocks, sterling rally on stimulus hopes. US stock-index Futures scale new peak. Oil bounces back from 2-month lows on weaker dollar.
Alcoa, Inc. (AA) reported Q2 earnings yesterday afternoon that topped expectations and is up over 5% in pre-market.
On the other hand, Fastenal Company (FAST) announced Q2 earnings that missed expectations and is down nearly 5.5%.
This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from CSX Corporation (CSX).
Tomorrow morning, Burberry Group Plc ADR (BURBY) is expected to report.
AAPL showed a mountain of strength yesterday, gaining 0.31% on very light volume. AAPL opened up at 96.76 to high volume and immediately set an intra-day low of 96.73 before climbing up to an intra-day peak of 97.65 at 9:47am on mild volume. AAPL then slipped back down toward the low-97 area on low volume and stabilized around 97.3 in the early afternoon. Later in the afternoon, however, AAPL slid down to 97 on low volume. AAPL ended the day up 30 cents at 96.98 and dropped 7 cents in after-hours to 96.91.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up higher in conjunction with Futures and quickly hit a peak of 97.67 at 4:36am on low volume. AAPL then gravitated towards 97.4 and has since remained in a narrow range. AAPL is currently up 40 cents at 97.38 as we approach the open.
Classic max-pain is 95.5.
