Apple Today - 6/07/2016 (AAPL)

NASDAQ Futures are up 9 with +12 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 4 with +5 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 45 on our 1st June Tuesday and a busy day for economic data. Futures were up in early morning and peaked strongly around 5:30am before easing back later in the morning but are still in solid green territory as we await the open.
Asian markets ended up. China went up 0.07%, Hong Kong surged 1.42% and Japan gained 0.58%. European markets are also up today. The UK is up 0.30%, Germany is up 1.65% and France is up 1.21%.
Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 1.03%, natural gas is down 1.46% and gold is down 0.60%. Unleaded gas is up 0.92% and heating oil is up 1.62%. Metals are down. Meat is mixed. Cocoa, coffee, cotton and soybeans are up while corn and wheat are down.
Wall Street set to open higher on Yellen speech, oil rise. US productivity contracts modestly in first quarter.
HD Supply (HDS) reported Q1 earnings this morning with results that exceeded expectations and is up nearly 1% in pre-market. Navistar International Corporation (NAV) announced Q2 earnings topping profit forecasts and is up nearly 2%. On the other hand, Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. (VRX) reported a Q1 earnings loss and cut guidance and is down over 16% in pre-market. The Michaels Companies (MIK) announced earnings missing expectations on revenue and is down nearly 7.5%.
This afternoon after the bell, look for earnings from VeriFone Systems, Inc. (PAY) and Dave & Buster's Entertainment, Inc. (PLAY).
Tomorrow morning, Lululemon Athletica Inc. (LULU) and Renren Inc. (RENN) are expected to report.
The AAPL tree grew a little bit bigger yesterday, 0.73% to be exact on low volume, with just a hint of "clouds" in the afternoon. AAPL opened at 97.9 to moderate volume and took a quick dip to the intra-day low of 97.55 on moderate volume before bouncing back sharply a full point within minutes on lower volume. Thereafter, AAPL's green leaves floated about the upper-98 area for most of the day with an eye on 99, breaking above in the morning and setting an intra-day high of 99.12 later at 2:28pm on low volume. Of course there was also that "mysterious" rogue spike to 101.89 at 2:19pm... With a few darkening clouds rolling by overhead AAPL softened into the close and dipped to the mid-98 area. Overall an nice green day as AAPL ended the day up 71 cents at 98.63 and gained an additional 2 cents in after-hours to 98.65.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL showed initiative alongside cheerful Futures in the low-99 area, hitting a pre-market high of 99.36 at 6:18am before settling back down towards the 99 line. AAPL is currently up 37 cents at 99 even as we approach the open
