Apple Today - 4/04/2016 (AAPL)

seymour_greenz • April 4th 2016 02:12:17 PM

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are up 4 with +9 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 2 with +2 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 5 on this first Monday of April. Futures have been bouncing around a lot this morning, from down to up, then a big dip at 3am followed by a quick burst up for most of later this morning and then just more recently we see some settling back down as we await the open.

Asian markets ended down, though 2 of the markets are closed today. China is closed, Hong Kong is closed and Japan dropped 0.25%. European markets are up today. The UK is currently up 0.58%, Germany is up 0.78% and France is leading the advance, up 1.04%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 0.46%, natural gas is up 2.91% and gold is down 0.25%. Unleaded gas is up 0.86% and heating oil is up 0.02%. Metals are down. Meat is down. Cocoa, cotton and soybeans are up while coffee, corn and wheat are down.

European shares rise led by defensive stocks, telecoms slump. Euro-area unemployment declines to lowest since 2011.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Hudson's Bay Co (HBAYF) and NovaGold Resources, Inc (NG).

Tomorrow, Darden Restaurants, Inc. (DRI), The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. (GBX) and Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (WBA) are expected to report.

AAPL had a strong week, up 4.09% on low volume. On Monday, AAPL opened near 106 and got little traction as it drifted lower on lower volume towards 105 by the end of the day. On Tuesday, however, AAPL pressed on upward on higher volume all day to grab the upper-107 area without looking back. On Wednesday, AAPL launched up above 110 for the 1st time in 2016 and held pretty well on moderate volume. On Thursday, AAPL settled back towards 109 on low volume. On Friday, AAPL was full of "tricks" as it opened at 108.78 to moderate volume and immediately dipped to 108.20 at 9:44am on moderate volume before turning green and recovering 109 less than 30 minutes later and making another dash for 110 at 11:36am on moderate volume. AAPL then spent the afternoon in the upper-109 area until the last 15 minutes when AAPL pushed up to a peak of 110, ending a good day and particularly good week at 109.99. AAPL gained a penny in after-hours to close at 110 even.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher above 110 and pushed up to 111.13 by 7:50am on comments from Credit Suisse on reasons AAPL is worth $150. AAPL has since settled back from 111 slightly and is in the upper-110 area. AAPL is currently up 76 cents at 110.75 as we approach the open.

Classic max-pain is 105. The Apple iPooch VR report from Friday was, of course an April 1st joke. Have a great day.
