Apple Today - 2/25/2016 (AAPL)

NASDAQ Futures are up 4 with +14 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 3 with +6 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 28 on a this Thursday busy with earnings and economic data. Futures were treading water and took a dip at 1am, then fought back to green by 6am and have been hovering in positive territory mid-morning. This is despite a major drop in China today of over 6%.
Asian markets were mostly down today. China dropped 6.41%, Hong Kong closed down 1.65% and Japan gained 1.41%. On the other hand, European markets are rallying today. The UK is currently leading the gainers, up 2.43%, Germany is up 1.71% and France is up 2.23%.
Commodities are mostly down this morning. Oil is down 0.72%, natural gas is up 1.85% and gold is down 0.07%. Unleaded gas is down 0.19% and heating oil is down 1.09%. Metals are down except copper. Meat is up. Cocoa, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are up while coffee is down.
US durable goods orders rebound strongly in January. China's equities plunge by 6.41% as volatility reignites:.
Salesforce.com, inc. (CRM) reported earnings yesterday beating expectations and is up over 10% in pre-market. On the other hand, HP Inc. (HPQ) reported falling earnings amid PC weakness yesterday afternoon and is currently down over 5%.
Best Buy Co. (BBY), announced earnings this morning, beating Q4 profit forecasts and is up over 1%. Kohl's Corporation (KSS) is up over 3% after reporting earnings topping Q4 earnings. On the other hand, Wayfair (W) is down over 1% on reports of a narrowing loss. ReWalk Robotics (RWLK) also fell over 9% after announcing earnings this morning.
This afternoon after the bell, look for earnings from Autodesk, Inc. (ADSK), Aspen Aerogels, Inc. (ASPN), Baidu, Inc. (BIDU), Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CBI), The Gap, Inc. (GPS), Herbalife Ltd. (HLF), Ingram Micro Inc. (IM), Intuit Inc. (INTU), The Kraft Heinz Company (KHC), Kindred Healthcare, Inc. (KND), Monster Beverage Corp. (MNST), Noodles & Company (NDLS), Nutrisystem Inc (NTRI), Universal Display Corporation (OLED), Palo Alto Networks (PANW), RE/MAX Holdings, Inc. (RMAX), Stamps.com Inc. (STMP) and Weight Watchers International, Inc. (WTW).
Tomorrow before the bell, Sotheby's (BID), Foot Locker, Inc. (FL), Hilton Worldwide Holdings (HLT), J.C. Penney Company Inc. (JCP) and Revlon, Inc. (REV) are expected to report.
AAPL saw signs of a "turnaround" yesterday, swinging from a greater than 1% loss to a 1.49% gain. AAPL opened at 93.98 to moderately high volume, struggled with mid-94 and nervously dipped to an intra-day 93.32 on relatively high volume before bouncing back over the course of the morning to recover 95 shortly after 1pm. AAPL continued to drive upwards throughout the afternoon and peaked at 96.38 on moderate volume at 3:42pm before settling slightly to close up 1.41 at 96.1. AAPL gained an additional 18 cents in after-hours to end at 96.28.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened lower in conjunction with Futures, but regained yesterday's close while maintaining a fairly narrow range. AAPL is currently even at 96.1 as we approach the open.
