Apple Today - 2/05/2016 OPEX (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are down 4 with -10 Fair Value, S&P Futures are down 2 with -3 Fair Value and Dow Futures are down 5 on this OPEX Friday after the anxiously anticipated jobs report. Futures were down last night but got a goose up at 4am lasting until about 6am declining into the jobs report release and beyond.

Asian markets closed mostly down today. China declined 0.63%, Hong Kong gained 0.55% and Japan lost 1.32%. European markets are mixed today. The UK is currently up 0.12%, Germany is down 0.62% and France is up 0.39%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 1.36%, natural gas is up +3.75% and gold is up 0.13%. Unleaded gas is down 0.08% and heating oil is up 0.30%. Metals are up except copper. Meat is mostly down. Cotton and soybeans while coffee, cocoa, corn and wheat are down

US economy added 151k jobs in January, unemployment falls to 4.9%, the lowest level in 8 years.

LinkedIn (LNKD) is down a stunning 35% this morning after reporting a decline in net income, increasing expenses and a lower than expected forecast for 2016. NETGEAR, Inc. (NTGR) is up in pre-market after reporting earnings and beating Q4 EPS by 17c, profit advances 20% in Q4, however guidance came in lower than expected. Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (LGF) is down nearly 8% after reporting sharply lower earnings, blaming performance of "Mockingjay 2" and "Last Witch Hunter". AthenaHealth, Inc. (ATHN) is also down in pre-market after reporting a 21% decline in earnings for Q4.

Tyson Foods Inc. (TSN) is up nearly 7% after announcing an earnings beat this morning. The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (EL) is flat after declaring a quarterly dividend of 0.30 per share.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for a rare Friday earnings report from Farmer Brothers Company (FARM).

On Monday before the bell, Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. (DO), Hasbro, Inc. (HAS) and Loews Corporation (L) are expected to report.

AAPL had a snappy day on ex-div, closing up 0.26% for the day despite paying out 52 cents per share. AAPL opened down at 95.85 to moderate volume, dipped to 95.19 at 9:46am on moderate volume, bounced off the low to mid-95 and then at 10am rather quickly snapped up to green, hitting a high of 97.33 within the hour on average volume. AAPL sold off after 11am and once again dipped back to 95.5 on moderate volume before fighting back for the green mid-96 area towards the end of lunch hour on low volume and then struggling with 96 after lunch also on low volume. After 2pm, AAPL perked up a little, turned green and made a last minute attempt at the upper-96 area towards 97 in the last 30 minutes. AAPL ended ex-div day up 25 cents at 96.60. AAPL dropped 11 cents in after-hours ending at 96.49.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up at 96.77 and hit a high of 97 at 7:32am and remained in the upper-96 area most of the morning until later in pre-market where AAPL dropped down to a low of 96.10 after the jobs report. AAPL has bounced back a bit since and is again in the mid-96 area. AAPL is currently down 15 cents at 96.45 as we approach the open.
