seymour_greenz • January 19th 2016 10:16:30 AM

Good Morning,

Welcome back. NASDAQ Futures are up 58 with +67 Fair Value, Dow Futures are up 217 on this day after MLK day 2016. Futures have been gaining steam throughout the morning and are not far off the highs put in around 6:30am.

Asian markets rallied back today. China closed up 3.22%, Hong Kong gained 2.07% and Japan ended up 0.55%. European markets are also rallying. The UK is currently up 2.17%, Germany is up 1.99% and France is leading the pack up 2.72%.

Commodities are mostly up this morning. Oil is currently up 0.71%, natural gas is up 1.71% and gold is up 0.39%. Unleaded gas is up 3.72% and heating oil is down 0.37%. Metals up except gold. Meat is down. Cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn, soybeans and wheat are all also up.

The latest data out of China shows their economy grew by just 6.9% in 2015, leading IMF to cut global growth forecast.

Delta Air Lines (DAL) reported Q4 earnings this morning, bottomed at 43.9 in pre-market just after 7am and is currently up over 2%. Unilever (UL) also reported and is up over 4% on better than expected revenue.

This afternoon after the bell, look for earnings from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Cree (CREE), Interactive Brokers Group (IBKR), International Business Machines (IBM) and Netflix (NFLX).

Tomorrow morning before the bell, TD Ameritrade (AMTD) and Goldman Sachs (GS) are expected to report.

AAPL had a "rocky" week but wound up not going much of anywhere, up just 0.18% for the week. Off to a rough start, Monday found AAPL mostly in the 98-area, Tuesday showed some promise near 100, Wednesday brought an avalanche back to 98, Thursday saw a "rally" back over 100 and Friday gapped down, threatened to lose 96 with a painful low of 95.36 at 12:40pm on relatively low volume and then wound up recovering to 97.71 at 3:06 on moderate volume and closing at 97.13, most of the day spent on very high volume. AAPL traded in a narrow range in after-hours, gaining an additional 2 cents.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up higher in conjunction with Futures and hugged the 99-area for most of the morning, reaching a pre-market high of 99.25 at 6:38am. AAPL has since settled down into the mid-98 area as we approach the open. AAPL is currently up 1.38 at 98.43.
