Apple Today - 11/11/2015 (AAPL)
seymour_greenz November 11th 2015 09:38:05 AMGood Morning,
NASDAQ Futures are up 14 with +21 Fair Value, Dow Futures are up 56.
Asian markets closed mixed. China gained 0.27% and Japan closed up 0.1%, while Hong Kong dropped 0.22%. European markets are currently higher today. Germany and France are up well over 1% while the UK is up over 0.6%. Oil is currently down around 1.5%, natural gas is up around 0.5% and gold is slightly below flat in pre-market. China's "Singles' Day", similar to our "Cyber Monday, their biggest shopping day of the year is smashing records again, with total transactions already surpassing $10 billion. This afternoon, look for an earnings report from Popeye's (PLKI).
AAPL had a brutal day yesterday in pre-market, then opening down over 3 points, dipping below 117 on extremely high volume. Most of the morning AAPL seemed to be in recovery mode with a fair attempt at recovering 118, a feat accomplished just before 11:30am with a peak of 118.07. As lunch began, AAPL weakened slowly and consistently through early afternoon on moderate volume, eventually making a new low of 116.06 at 2:24pm on moderately high volume. Afterwards, another recovery attempt brought AAPL back up over 117 on moderately high volume in late afternoon trading only to dip again towards 116 into the close, ending the intra-day session at 116.77. After-hours saw additional selling and AAPL dropped an additional 43 cents to 116.34.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened down near the after-hours close, "seemingly" brazenly ignoring the very green Futures. AAPL fairly quickly lifted into the upper 116-area on moderate volume until just after 7am when AAPL stumbled again, dropping down into the upper 115-area, and then again as low as 115.64 before rebounding back slightly to reclaim the mid 116-area, peaking at 116.44 on moderate volume before weakening again. AAPL is currently down 61 cents to 116.16. The "selling" seems to be "momentum" from yesterday's "supply chain weakness".
Classic max-pain is now 118.
