Apple Today - 10/21/2015 (AAPL)

NASDAQ Futures are up 23 with +21 Fair Value, Dow Futures are up 63 in a dose of optimism as earnings season really heats up. Asian markets were mixed China closing down 3.06%, Hong Kong down 0.38% and Japan up 1.91%. European markets, UK, Germany and France, are all currently up from near half a percent to 1%, on average. Oil is down sharply on China supply concerns, natural gas is also down over 2% and gold is again about even in pre-market trading. Western Digital agrees to buy SanDisk for ~$19 billion. As for earnings, there are a barrage of new reports from yesterday and arriving today. Chipotle (CMG) got clobbered yesterday after announcing earnings that missed expectations and indicated a slowdown in sales growth and is currently down over 7%. Yahoo (YHOO) also reported disappointing results yesterday and is down between 1-2% in pre-market. On the other hand, General Motors (GM) beat and is up over 4%. Many new earnings reports are scheduled for this afternoon, including eBay (EBAY), American Express (AXP) and Las Vegas Sands (LVS). Ferrari's IPO launches out of the gate today at $52, under the ticker symbol RACE.
AAPL looked quite good in pre-market yesterday, breaking well into the 112 area until the VZ report soured the mood, triggering a "selloff" that caused a 111 open and a brief dip as low as 110.83 at 9:40am on high volume. Subsequently, AAPL reversed course, charged upwards and was in the green by 10am and broke 113 on enormous volume soon after. By noontime, AAPL hit 114 and peaked at 114.17 at 12:12pm on relatively high volume. The rest of the afternoon, AAPL remained in a range in the upper 113s and ended the intra-day session at 113.77. In after-hours, AAPL dipped slightly by 23 cents to end the session at 113.54.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened at 113.38 on low volume and quickly gravitated towards 114. By 5:26am, AAPL peaked at 114.22 on low volume and hovered in the low 114s for a while before dipping below 114 after 7am on relatively heavy pre-market volume, then bouncing on 113.5 at 8:18am on more heavy volume to get near yesterday's close. AAPL is currently down 2 cents at 113.75.
Classic max-pain is 111.
